This great new site suggestion is from Alison, a long-time friend and my college roomie! Before she sent this suggestion to me, I had received one of her cards and checked it out already….Pretty cool!
My new favorite thing is called SendOutCards. They have every kind of card imaginable and they are really great greeting cards. After you register for the sy
stem the cards cost anywhere from 31 to 93 cents per card (plus postage), much cheaper than buying a card in the store. SendOutCards uses a points system, so when you enroll, you receive 200 points equalling about $62.00 worth of free points. My favorite part is that you can customize one of their greeting cards, or you can customize your own greeting card using your own picture.
The system also allows you to download your contacts into their system and with the click of a button you can send as many cards as you want and never have to address an envelope. There is also an option to have SendOutCardsenclose a gift card from Harry & David, Starbucks, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Gap, various restaurants, and many more. I use them for the kid’s birthday invites, announcements, birthdays and Christmas cards.
The best feature is that you can tell the system when to make the card. I could go through my contact list and find all the people I want to send cards to throughout the year and I could sit down today to make the cards and write personal notes then tell the system to send it out approximately 5 days before their birthday. Same with Christmas cards. I could do them today and then set them to go
out after Thanksgiving. Since I joined SendOutCards I have sent so many cards to people that I normally want to, but somehow lose the time to do because I have to go to the store, address it, stamp it, etc…
Take a look. It is fabulous. When you log on, you can send your first two cards for FREE!
Not only do I like the idea of making my own Christmas cards, but I LOVE the idea of my cards being addressed for me and sent exactly when I tell them to! What a great time saver! Thanks, Al.
