Wynne’s Day…

Have you ever shopped on Etsy.com?  Have you ever sold something on Etsy.com?  If you have a need for something unusual and handmade this is the place to find it.  Also, if you make something unusual this is the place to sell it. It is kind of like an eBay for artists and designers.

A friend recently shared this site with me and I have had such fun exploring it.  Keep in mind everything is handmade, so there are some less than cool items as well, but definitely some really unique finds.  There is also a blog.  I just read a fascinating story about a girl from Hong Kong that started making leather purses for her friends, then started selling on Etsy.com and now has a full time purse making career.  These purses are beautiful and expensive! 

The site is easy to navigate by category on the left side of the screen.  There is everything from cool belt buckles and key rings to scarves and hats. Just about everything- the only requirement is that it be handmade by the artist or fun vintage.

Thanks, Wynne.  I love Etsy.  I discovered it a couple years ago, but got a bit overwhelmed at first.  When I see a designer or store that I like, I quickly mark it as a favorite, so I will know where to return for cute items.  And there are definitely some CUTE items…you just gotta wade thru some not-so-cute to get there.  The time it takes, however, will be worth your while!
