Little Blessings books were originally created for children from the ages of 3-6 years old to help them understand basic Christian truths. They address issues like “What is Prayer?” and being thankful. These are great books that really simplify some big issues so children can begin to get a grasp of spiritual meaning.
This September, Little Blessings will be releasing two more great books in their collection: What is the Bible? and Who Made the World? I was most impressed with the content these little books attempted to cover. I have read many children’s books that steer clear of the real “meat” of Christianity and barely touch on more than love and animals. While both of these books use very simple and poetic language, important concepts are raised in the most creative and fluent manor. As I read through both books with my two young boys, I loved that many of the questions they often ask about God and creation, etc. were being addressed as we read. Questions such as, “Who made God? Did you sleep when you
created the world? Who wrote the Bible?
From a mother’s perspective, the content is in line with spiritual truth, challenging and thought-provoking to the targeted age group. My boys, loved the small size of the books (approx 5×7″) and the pictures. The cadence of the book kept their attention, as did the pictures telling the story. Even more impressive to me was the scripture references in the back of the book. Each statement that was “claimed” throughout the book was referenced to biblical scripture in the last section of the book. This is a great help to parents as they guide their children through the truth and have biblical references to substantiate the claims. Having the actual Bible verses there, also provides a place for little ones to begin memorizing scripture based on what they have learned in the book.
I loved the books and was thrilled to be able to read them for a review. I look forward to keeping my eye on Little Blessings books for more great books in the future.
